These Are the Best Airports For Finding International Flight Deals in the U.S.

For decades, frequent fliers have tried to crack the code of finding the cheapest available flights, leading to many myths about best booking practices. Contrary to popular belief, there’s no specific day of the week that will yield more affordable fares, but your point of departure can play a significant role, according to a new study.

The study conducted by Scott’s Cheap Flights details the best and worst U.S. airports for inexpensive international flights in 2021. As a website and membership club solely dedicated to sharing excellent flight deals with its members, Scott’s Cheap Flights has plenty of data to make these determinations.

The top airport on the list received over 239 deals just in the first six months of 2021. That’s over one deal per day on average. Meanwhile, the other airports in the top ten list received over 23 sales per month on average.

After analyzing data from international commercial airports in metro areas with at least one million people, Scott’s Cheap Flights found that these are the top 5 airports for frequent flight deals.
5. Washington Dulles:
204 deals in the first half of 2021
Average international flight: $470 round-trip
Cheapest recorded international flight: $157 round-trip
4. Los Angeles:
207 deals in the first half of 2021
Average international flight: $489 round-trip
Cheapest recorded international flight: $178 round-trip
3. Chicago O’Hare
208 deals in the first half of 2021
Average international flight: $479 round-trip
Cheapest recorded international flight: $157 round trip
2. Newark Liberty
208 deals in the first half of 2021
Average international flight: $460 round trip
Cheapest recorded international flight: $125 round-trip
1. John F. Kennedy
239 deals in the first half of 2021

Average international flight: $439 round-trip
