Attractive Cruise Incentives.

Cruising is back, and though many travelers are still wary of hitting the high seas, others are eagerly booking their sailings for the near and far future. Costa Cruises is having a “Back to Sea Sale,” offering significant savings in celebration of its return to sailing.
According to Travel and Leisure, the Italian-based cruise line offers a fare discount of up to $200 per person, besides gifting passengers with up to $100 per person in onboard spending credits.

“We have been expecting our service return, and there’s no better way to say welcome back than with special savings and spending credits on some incredible itineraries in Europe.” Scott Knutson, the vice president of sales and marketing for Costa Cruises North America, said in a statement provided to T+L. “The Back to Sea Sale is our way of saying Grazie Mille for booking with us and choosing to have a truly international cruise experience in a region that no one knows better than Costa.”

The “Back to Sea Sale” is available on select 7- to 14-night itineraries exploring the eastern or western Mediterranean, northern Europe, or the United Arab Emirates. These eligible cruises are scheduled for 2021 and 2020, with departures from several ports, including Barcelona, Marseille, Venice, Dubai, and Copenhagen.

When guests book by Sept. 30, they’ll each receive either a $100 or $200 discount on the fare, as well as $50 or $100 in onboard spending credit — depending on the departure.
They can use this credit for specialty dining, spa treatments, shore excursions, and more.

Unlike several other cruise lines, Costa Cruises does not require guests to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to board the ship. However, PCR testing will be needed for the cruise terminal for those who live in or have traveled through areas that the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has classified as “risky.” This list of “risky areas” includes the United States and several European countries.

Other COVID safety protocols include:

  • A mask mandate for public areas.
  • Daily temperature checks for passengers.
  • Mid-cruise antigen tests on sailings that last seven days or more.
